IAI is now presenting a new product generation of servo presses for this purpose. They are based on the electric push rod axes from IAI. The new servo presses are available with thrust forces between 200 newtons and 50 kilonewtons and stroke lengths from 100 to 520 millimetres. Also worth noting is the unlimited thrust time on some models. The force control required for the precise pressing process is ensured by a load cell at the tip of the push rod. This enables high-precision positioning control, which in turn makes it easy to adjust the pushing force and monitor the position. The application software enables two selectable control modes: speed control or force control. The controller has interfaces to all common fieldbus networks. All IAI servo presses are suitable for precise press-fitting, joining, pressing, fastening or riveting as well as for many other applications in electronics, precision mechanics or mechanical engineering. pb
