SW at the AMB

Self-sufficient production cell with workpiece supply for one shift

Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen is expanding its portfolio with a third Plug & Play-capable production cell: The complete system consists of a two-spindle machining center from the BA 3 series, a loading module with an integrated six-axis robot and a vertical pallet storage unit for raw and finished parts.

The module, which will be presented at the AMB, enables the machining center to be loaded and unloaded during machining time and is completely flange-mounted to the basic machine at the SW factory, resulting in a short commissioning time for the customer. The machine, robot and workpiece storage unit are designed as a customized crane hook solution, while the ceiling-mounted robot also provides greater freedom of movement. The pallet storage unit is offset to the side, allowing manual workpiece loading of the machine with minimal space requirements. The storage unit can be loaded with a maximum of 24 pallets measuring 600 x 400 millimetres, giving it a capacity of 1,152 raw or finished parts.

Under the motto "Be Pro", SW will demonstrate at the trade fair that SW solutions can also increase productivity in unmanned shifts by machining a housing for the control electronics of an electric drive. The "life" service concept also contributes to this: For example, it includes data services such as digitalization consulting, energy monitoring, factory simulation and data analytics under the "life data" module.

Among other things, SW experts can carry out fault analyses and evaluate data via a remote connection - an option for fault diagnosis that allows many faults to be rectified from the SW headquarters, saving time and money. In addition, a new cloud platform offers customers clear and user-friendly access to the machine data of their machining centers. Continuous performance monitoring ensures increased transparency across the entire production process. as
