Generation change heralded

Ralf Steinmann will be primarily responsible for technology and sales at Schnaithmann. The trained mechanical engineer worked at Schunk from 1991 to 2017 as Head of the Gripping Systems Division.

By appointing the 53-year-old to the management board, company founder Karl Schnaithmann wants to secure the future of the family business. To divide up the roles, he plans to initially support the new managing director with his many years of experience and later move to the advisory board. "We have all created something great together, and to ensure that this continues in the future, I am delighted to have gained an experienced and empathetic Managing Director in Ralf Steinmann," says Karl Schnaithmann.

Founded in 1985, the company now has around 250 employees, including 40 trainees in eight professional fields. They manufacture transfer and assembly systems for automation, assembly, material flow and handling tasks in Remshalden. From brainstorming, planning and design through to the commissioning of a complete transfer system and on-site maintenance, all services are provided from a single source.

"After more than 30 years of automation technology, we are currently facing exciting times," says Ralf Steinmann about the challenges of the new role. "New product concepts require new solutions, such as collaborative robotics. These developments are being accelerated by increasing mechatronization and digitalization. As a partner to the best, we want to make our contribution here and be at the forefront." as
