VDE torque wrench
Screws under tension
Special tools for working on live components and conductors are required not only in the electrical sector, but across all industries. In addition to VDE pliers, Gedore's range of insulated tools includes the VDE torque wrench 4508-05.
The measuring instrument for controlled screw tightening is suitable for live working up to 1000 volts on components and conductors in the automotive industry, the telecommunications sector and special applications in foundries, for example. The new generation of the VDE torque wrench 4508-05 is based on the Torcofix pipe torque wrench, which the company has long had in its range in versions for different torque ranges. Gedore has thus optimized the predecessor model with the Torcofix release technology. The VDE torque wrench can be easily adjusted and calibrated, including a calibration certificate in accordance with the current version of DIN EN ISO 6789. The wrench's insulation, which is required for work in the voltage range, is not destroyed during calibration.
The torque wrench is designed for a working range of 10 to 50 Newton meters, which can be set by simply turning the handle after unlocking it at the end of the handle. Fine adjustment is made using a scale graduation in 0.25 Newton meter increments. A deviation of plus/minus three percent from the set value exceeds the plus/minus four percent required by the standard. The wrench has a 1/2 inch square socket with a safety button to prevent unintentional loosening of the inserts.
The VDE torque wrench 4508-05 is used wherever live working is required, such as for the repair and maintenance of machines and systems, for special applications such as induction furnaces or foundries, in agriculture, the automotive industry, when working on running motors, railroad signal boxes or telecommunications cables. as
