Line unloader
Magazine width is set automatically
The Vego Handling product range from Asys presents a line unloader with automatic magazine width adjustment. The new function eliminates the need for manual preparatory work during a setup change. It also reduces the error rate due to incorrectly set magazines.
In terms of fully automated material supply for electronics production, this function has many advantages. Firstly, no preparatory work is required to automatically supply the system with a transport robot. Magazines of any width can be fed to the unloader. Everything else is done automatically. On the other hand, set-up times are eliminated as the magazines no longer have to be set manually and stored in stock when changing products. Another important aspect is error prevention. Incorrectly set magazines often lead to production stoppages. If the magazine is set too narrow or too wide, this can even damage the product.
Magazine location with adjustment motor
A prerequisite is the use of magazines with spindle adjustment. The spindle is usually operated manually using a belt. For the automated solution, Asys has equipped each magazine position with an adjustment motor. When the operator or an autonomous transport robot places a magazine on the table, the motor automatically couples to the threaded spindle of the moving cheek on the magazine. After coupling with the motor, this is referenced by contactless sensors. The exact position of the format width is then set.
With this method, the magazine is not subjected to mechanical stress or wear and accuracy can be permanently guaranteed. With alternative methods, the maximum width or the mechanical end stop is used as the reference point. This leads to permanent wear of the spindle and spindle nut and thus to inaccuracy of the desired magazine width. The same applies if the spindle is dirty. as
