Stratasys and Solvay with new FDM materials

Stratasys has launched an authorized materials manufacturing partner program to expand the range of high-performance polymers available to companies using Stratasys FDM technology. As a first step, Solvay, manufacturer of advanced materials, has been selected to support the launch of the program and the supply of new polymers for the Stratasys F900.

For more than two decades, Stratasys has helped customers develop durable, highly reproducible 3D printed parts for high-performance environments. They use advanced materials such as FDM Nylon 12CF, FDM TPU 92A and PEKK-based Antero 800NA. Under the Authorized Materials Partner program, Solvay will access exclusive Stratasys tooling and expertise to develop materials that meet Stratasys' quality and performance standards. Both partners will base their collaboration on an Authorized Materials Roadmap to support Solvay in the selection and development of materials for Stratasys FDM printers.

"Stratasys is expanding its portfolio of advanced, specialized materials for high-performance FDM printers so companies can easily incorporate 3D printing into their production," said Rich Garrity, President, Americas at Stratasys. "By sharing our expertise with Solvay, customers can access a wide range of high-performance materials while maintaining the quality and reliability expected from high-performance FDM materials."

"With this strategic partnership, we are combining Stratasys' leadership in FDM 3D printing with Solvay's leadership in developing high-performance AM materials for the most demanding applications across a wide range of industries," says Christophe Schramm, Business Manager Additive Manufacturing at Solvay's Specialty Polymers Global Business Unit. "This is fully in line with Solvay's ambition to push the boundaries of high-performance additive manufacturing."

Stratasys will showcase its collaboration agreement with Solvay at Rapid + TCT 2019 at the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan. Visitors can learn more at the Stratasys booth (#1201).
