Joints for Delta robots
Improved joints for Delta robots
Belden Universal introduces major improvements to its joints for pick-and-place applications (Delta robots).
The joint is largely made of corrosion-resistant steel and is based on a combination of the pin/cube design, which is usually designed as a plain bearing, and the needle bearing joint. The result is a joint with the ability to operate continuously under highly dynamic conditions as well as the ability to absorb high side loads when operating with large deflection angles while maintaining a small size.
The design improvements focus on the central joint elements. Larger bearings enable operation at the higher torques required for handling heavier loads. Modifications in the fork area increase the deflection angle to up to 55° in all directions. The torsional backlash has been reduced by further design measures and ensures precise positioning of the payloads. am
