Smaller and more maneuverable

New MiR for transportation in confined spaces

MiR is launching its most agile model to date, the MiR250. The autonomous transport robot is suitable for use in confined and busy environments.

The MiR250 from Mobile Industrial Robots is smaller and lower than conventional models with a comparable load capacity. This allows it to fit through doorways just 80 centimetres wide, for example. "The more agile a robot is, the more useful it is," says Thomas Visti, CEO of MiR. "In many places in industry, there is very little space available. At the same time, mobile robots should be used in existing environments without having to change them. There is an urgent need for robots that can navigate in confined spaces, use elevators and negotiate bends quickly. With the MiR250, we offer users just such a solution."

MiR has replaced some standard components in the MiR250 with more robust alternatives so that the robot is better equipped for use in harsh industrial environments. "There are very few smaller robots available for logistics automation that are robust enough for use in industrial production environments," says Thomas Visti. "We are closing this gap in the market with the MiR250."

With a speed of up to 7.2 kilometers per hour, the robot can complete transport jobs quickly. Users also benefit from its extended operating time: "The MiR250 charges twice as fast as other mobile robots of its size," explains Thomas Visti. "Over the course of a day, we were able to improve the available operating time and get an extra three hours out of it. To avoid downtime altogether, the battery can easily be changed. It only takes two minutes."

Liftingdevice for shelves
With the help of add-on modules, the MiR250 can be adapted to the individual needs of the user. For the first time, MiR is also offering a lifting device that can be mounted on the MiR250 called the MiR Shelf Carrier, with which the robot can independently pick up and set down shelves. The MiR partner network also provides roller conveyors, robot arms, shelf modules and other attachments and superstructures for the robot. as
