Service tools for more sustainability

Nowadays, the topic of sustainability covers the entire life cycle of machines and systems. The plant manufacturer IMA Schelling therefore relies, among other things, on a special modernization offer and discontinuation management.

"Nothing is more sustainable than using a machine for a long time," says Thomas Inmann, Department Manager of Service Consulting at IMA Schelling. "This is all the more true if its efficiency is continually updated over the years."

According to the company, the machines and systems from IMA Schelling are already produced to such a high standard that they already have a long service life. The IMA Schelling Group therefore offers its customers various services to extend their life cycle even further. Customers also benefit from the global service available at short notice as well as comprehensive service packages that guarantee fast repairs and prevent cost-intensive production downtimes.

Extending machine life through modernization

To extend the service life of the machines even further, the specialists for special systems and processing solutions for the wood, metal and plastics industries offer two additional services. On the one hand, the efficient service life of the machines and systems can be extended by years by modernizing the control and drive technology, retrofitting processing components or updating software.

Discontinuation management: proactive alternative solutions for spare parts

Secondly, IMA Schelling's discontinuation management ensures the long-term availability of spare parts. If a supplier discontinues a spare part, IMA Schelling's Service Consulting becomes active. The customers in whose systems the parts in question are installed are proactively contacted.

"We not only provide information about the imminent end of a spare part, but have also developed an alternative solution that often works even more efficiently," explains Inmann. This not only extends the life of the machines. It also makes maintenance and repairs easier to plan, which in turn increases machine availability.
