Rolling bearings in heavy industry

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Power packs for extreme loads

The extreme operating conditions in heavy industry require well-functioning sealing technology, protection against corrosion and compensation for shaft misalignments that occur under high loads.

Findling Wälzlager has further expanded its expertise and offers a product range with many innovative solutions that are optimized for these requirements.

"We combine our industry-oriented sales approach with product-oriented solution expertise for extreme operating conditions, such as in heavy industry," explains Klaus Findling, Managing Director of Findling Wälzlager. "In the area of rolling bearings, these industries require a longer service life, lower maintenance requirements and housings that can withstand higher loads with a lower product weight. But it is only through our focused consulting expertise that customers can benefit from the best practices we have learned."

Findling Wälzlager from Karlsruhe offers a comprehensive range of suitable solutions - from the robust housing bearings of the Xforce series to the innovative SRU units from the manufacturer FYH and the application-specific optimized standard rolling bearings. Housing bearings, for example, can be adapted to the respective application using various measures: In a so-called cap housing, protective caps (SM series) made of sheet metal or robust cast covers (CM series) are used, which ensure even more effective sealing of the rolling bearings.

They are available "open" for a continuous shaft or "closed" for a stub shaft. Cast steel housings made from the material EN-GJS-450-10 are suitable for high loads. Bearing inserts of the Abeg Supra performance class with a black oxide coating provide cost-effective but far-reaching corrosion protection. Last but not least, the patented "Bullet Point Set Srew" from the manufacturer FYH prevents elliptical deformation when tightening the bearing inner rings, reduces imbalances and extends the service life.

Which solution should be used always depends on the application in question. Anyone who is unsure is welcome to seek advice from Findling's application engineers. After all, safety is the top priority, especially in the heavy-duty sector - and this applies not least to the bearings installed in the machines.
