Material for laser sintering
Flame-retardant and carbon fiber reinforced
CRP Technology has launched Windform FR1, a new material from the Windform Top-Line family of composite materials for additive manufacturing.
According to the company, it is the first material for selective laser sintering that is both flame-retardant (UL94 V-0) and carbon fiber-reinforced. The polyamide-based composite material, with self-extinguishing grade UL94 V-0, without halogenated compounds, combines stiffness and lightness with very good mechanical properties. For this reason, and thanks to the FAR 25.853 certification, it is suitable for the construction of aerospace applications and for the manufacture of parts for motor vehicles and means of transport, as well as components that require a high level of surface finish and fineness of detail.
