Sensitive sensor supports safety applications
The new IMX335 image sensor from Sony is available from Framos. Due to its high sensitivity, it can also be used in the infrared range for security or surveillance applications.
Sony Semiconductor Solutions has introduced its new IMX335 image sensor for security applications and selected industrial and factory automation applications. The 1/2.8" sensor is available through Framos and offers a resolution of 5 MP with a pixel size of 2 µm. It has a back-illuminated pixel architecture that delivers high sensitivity with frame rates of up to 60 frames per second via a MIPI interface.
The CMOS sensor has a diagonal of 6.52 mm and an effective image size of 2592 x 1944 pixels. The Starvis BSI pixel technology enables high sensitivity, even in the near infrared range, and is therefore suitable for security and surveillance applications. A dynamic range of up to 72 dB, extended HDR functions and Digital Overlap HDR optimize image quality and contrast behavior and enable detailed image analysis. Combined with low dark current and no distortion, the sensor improves the performance of applications that capture both bright and dark areas simultaneously. The IMX335 is available in monochrome and color versions.
