RS Components and Ultra Librarian enter into partnership
RS Components (RS) and Ultra Librarian, provider of the world's largest CAD library, have agreed a partnership. This enables the direct integration of the Ultra Librarian CAD model library into the online platform DesignSpark from RS.
Members of the DesignSpark community can now access the Ultra Librarian Parts Finder, which provides them with millions of free 3D models, significantly reducing the development time for printed circuit boards (PCBs).
RS's award-winning DesignSpark platform hosts a range of free tools that accelerate the prototyping of printed circuit boards. Schematics can be imported in unlimited numbers and sizes, allowing the creation of PCBs with an unlimited number of layers, nodes, pads and connections, as well as the integration of RS parts libraries. User-defined libraries can be created via a library editor and much more, and the platform also offers freely available CAD solutions for mechanical and electrical engineering.
Ultra Librarian's CAD models can be accessed by entering the part number, if known, or by entering one or more keywords.CAD models can be viewed or downloaded for free and then imported directly into DesignSpark PCB or any other popular PCB CAD tool.
"Specifying the right parts and design-in can be what really holds up the electronics development process, as engineers need digital models for every single component," notes Carol North, Senior Digital Development Manager at RS Components. "Our new partnership with Ultra Librarian opens up a way out of this by making free drop-in CAD models available through the DesignSpark platform," continues North.
"Working with DesignSpark gives engineers the opportunity to gain extensive experience with tools to simplify and advance their design process," said Frank Frank, Ultra Librarian Founder and Product Architect. "With tools that help from conceptualization to prototyping, this partnership has resulted in a real powerhouse of resources for PCB designers," added Frank.
