LogiMAT 2019
Item focuses on digital engineering
At LogiMAT 2019, Item Industrietechnik will be presenting its intelligent design software, which has now been expanded to include additional components from the lean production modular system. The digital tool is the ideal addition for lean production. FIFO racks and other lean production solutions can be designed in no time at all. The engineering tool automatically finds the right connection technology and accessories for the selected profiles. At LogiMAT 2019, the company will also be showcasing other products that provide more order and structure in the industrial workplace and increase the efficiency of work processes.
With the engineering tool, Item provides designers in machine and equipment construction with an intelligent design tool with which individual projects can be designed quickly and easily. Users can now also use the components of the Lean Production modular system to create FIFO racks or other racks from the D30 profile tube system, for example. The free and rule-based 3D design takes place online in the user's browser. The engineering tool creates the complete project documentation including assembly instructions and supplies all the necessary CAD data. If desired, the systems or installations can be ordered directly online. The customer can share the design results with partners worldwide, as the engineering tool is available in a total of 41 countries and various languages.
Efficient work processes
In addition to the use of digital technologies, flexibility and adaptable production structures are required in the age of Industry 4.0. With the 4E FIFO shooter, the company offers a workstation that enables minimal set-up times and efficient work processes. A work table is combined with a supply trolley. The mobile staging rack can be exchanged for another, already pre-equipped rack in a matter of seconds. The workstation is loaded from the rear, implemented by Karakuri: once the supply trolley has been moved in, the blockages on the inclined roller conveyors are automatically released and the containers placed on them are transported directly into the employee's gripping area. In this way, the material feed is customized and individual. The workstation is electrically height-adjustable and can therefore be individually and ergonomically adapted to the height of the operator.
Toolpanel system for order and structure
Another component for the ergonomically optimized design of workstations is the new Toolpanel system. This allows employees to set up their workstations quickly and optimally according to their individual requirements. Any tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers or tool bits, can always be placed at the optimum height and arrangement on the custom-made grooved panel profile 8. To do this, the employee simply turns the corresponding holders into the groove. As the system groove is compatible with other components in the item MB Building Kit System, all other products in the hook and holder family, shelves and individual holding devices can also be used. The system thus ensures order and structure at the workplace.
