Faster market launch of aircraft

ANSYS, a leading provider of simulation software, has made aviation history with its solutions on board the Embraer E190-E2 commercial jet. The new model was the first aircraft to receive simultaneous certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Brazilian Civil Aviation Agency (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil - ANAC).

"Embraer met complex targets in record time - bringing a state-of-the-art generation of aircraft to market faster than ever before," says Pedro Nunes, head of the E190-E2 flight control software team at Embraer. "We rely on ANSYS for fast and accurate software production. ANSYS solutions have been at the core of our software production tool chain for years and have been used successfully in several projects."

In the production of the flight control system for the E190-E2, Embraer used ANSYS to develop and simulate the embedded software and to generate the embedded code used to control the primary flight control system. With their efficient and reliable code generation, ANSYS solutions enable significant time and cost savings.

The E190-E2 is not only 17.3 percent more fuel-efficient than the current E190 generation, making it the most efficient single-aisle aircraft on the market, but also the most environmentally friendly aircraft in its class with the lowest external noise and emissions. The commercial jet also has the longest maintenance intervals of any single-aisle aircraft.

"Embraer has always been a leader in aviation, consistently exceeding expectations in performance and fuel efficiency with its next-generation aircraft. ANSYS technology simplifies the certification process and accelerates the time to market for these innovative jets," emphasizes Thomas Zanzinger, Managing Director of ANSYS in DACH. "Across all industries from aerospace to automotive, ANSYS solutions allow customers to qualify for increasingly stringent certifications faster. Significant time and cost savings are the result."
