abas presents new ERP version

The new abas ERP version 2018 offers major innovations in the areas of container management, supplier selection, production, financial accounting, service and BI. The new abas Web Client paves the way for medium-sized companies to enter mobile forms of work, because abas ERP users can now access abas ERP conveniently via a web browser, regardless of location.

One highlight of the new 2018 release is the further expansion of container management, which is important for the automotive industry: it has been expanded to include inventory management of stocks in transport and storage containers. By mapping stock levels at container level with all information, not only are picking times and errors reduced, but the traceability of containers and their movements is also guaranteed.

Service processing - for commissioning machines and systems, maintenance and on-site repairs - offers SMEs great potential for saving time and money. The scheduling of service technicians on site is multifaceted. The new version offers a high degree of flexibility when selecting the appropriate deployment type and ensures considerable time savings, particularly when automatically scheduling technician deployments lasting several days. It is possible to choose between single appointments and multi-day appointments and the arrival and departure can be scheduled as an option. If appointments need to be adjusted, the entire appointment structure in the deployment planning is then simply moved using drag & drop.

Buyers can save money with the new "Supplier conditions" information system, which compares all suppliers with relevant criteria such as delivery time, quantity discounts or payment terms. At the same time, the buyer is automatically alerted to potential price optimizations. For example, an increase in the order quantity within an adjustable range can lead to more favorable purchasing conditions overall.

In order to analyze large amounts of data quickly and offer all decision-makers in the company self-service business intelligence, abas BI provides so-called OLAP cubes, on the basis of which data is bundled and prepared for specific departments. The Finance Cube of abas BI was further expanded for the 2018 release. It includes all data from abas ERP and other data sources relevant for a financial view and offers company management, controllers and receivables managers a quick overview of the profit and loss account, payment behavior, cost center accounting and much more.

The aim of the new abas Web Client is to optimally position medium-sized manufacturing companies for the rapid changes in the world of work. Instead of being permanently present at a fixed company workplace, users use the new modern web interface of abas ERP to work from anywhere - on business trips, at home, in a street café. Via their personal dashboard, they have direct access to the applications they need most for their daily work. Intuitive navigation, suggestion and full-text searches and the ability to switch seamlessly between different devices while working ensure a great user experience. Flexibility is not neglected on the system side either: companies can choose between a hybrid or full cloud approach.
