Thermal imaging camera
Reliable measurement performance, focusing and fusion image
Thermal imaging cameras provide important information for the maintenance, servicing and repair of machines and systems, as well as for building inspections, in order to detect any thermal problems at an early stage and prevent damage. A comprehensive selection of thermal imaging cameras is available on the Conrad Sourcing Platform. Just in time for the brand's 40th anniversary, Voltcraft presents the WB-500 thermal imaging camera, a professional-quality device with extensive features for preventive maintenance in industry and building analysis.
Moving and distant objects
Thanks to the fast refresh rate of 50 Hz, the Voltcraft WB-500 captures clear and unambiguous images even of moving parts. This means that critical processes on machines can also be detected during the work process. Detailed images of large objects from a great distance are also possible with the WB-500, which is particularly advantageous for inspecting buildings. Focusing is of central importance for the quality of the images, as the measured temperature can deviate significantly from the actual value in blurred thermal images. This is why the WB-500 focuses manually via the IR lens. A laser distance meter in the range of 0.05 to 30 meters supports the user in configuring the thermal imaging camera.
Fusion pictures and videos
Interpreting the multi-colored IR images is not always easy. To make this easier, the WB-500 can generate fusion images: a digital photo of the object is combined with the thermal image, making it easier for non-experts to locate details. But the Voltcraft WB-500 doesn't just take pictures. It can also create videos with sound recordings, which can even be streamed wirelessly via WLAN in real time. A clear data basis is required to analyze complex thermal problems. The 384 x 288 pixel bolometer matrix of the WB-500, combined with the high thermal sensitivity of 80 mK, offers the technical prerequisites for correctly identifying and evaluating even difficult conditions. "Overall, the new thermal imaging camera from Voltcraft, which is available in different calibration variants, offers a high technical standard paired with innovative functions that are required in industrial practice," emphasizes Kilian Braun, Product Manager at Conrad Electronic.
Simple data acquisition and analysis
The results can be saved on an SD card with up to 32 GB storage capacity and then transferred via USB or HDMI interfaces. An 8 GB microSD card is already included in the scope of delivery. Product Manager Kilian Braun concludes: "Ease of use and comprehensive features that deliver real added value were also top priorities in the development of this Voltcraft device, which is therefore ideal for professional use in MRO and building technology."
