Proximity sensors detect different components
The new KNS Extended sensor series with IO-Link from di-soric has an overall length of 45 millimetres and is available in flush and non-flush installation versions. The capacitive proximity sensors reliably detect different materials and components.
Preferred areas of application are the electronics, automotive, wood and furniture industries. The IO-Link digital interface stands for simple commissioning and offers the user time and cost-saving parameterization and diagnostic functions.
The capacitive proximity sensors, which take up very little space, are preferably used where various materials need to be reliably detected in the production process and components need to be protected against mechanical damage. The KNS Extended series with IO-Link is particularly suitable for the assembly of connectors or position monitoring of PCBs, for example. Capacitive proximity sensors detect various types of plastic parts in the course of light or cockpit assembly, they detect boards and planks in automated production lines in the wood and furniture construction industry without contact or wear.
Thanks to IO-Link, the series offers users easy-to-integrate remote setting and qualitative and quantitative diagnostic functions (assessment of process stability, teach-in quality and current process values). IO-Link also creates the conditions for simple maintenance (device replacement without manual intervention and expert knowledge, data storage in the master).
As a result, IO-Link reduces maintenance and downtimes. The 360 degree visible LED indicator makes it easier to monitor the mode status of the sensor. The robust KNS Extended IO-Link sensors are available with a diameter of 6.5 millimetres or with threads M8, M12 with cable or plug connection. as
