New standards with the safety laser scanner
Navigate reliably
The RSL 400 safety laser scanner with detailed measured value output for the navigation of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) is the result of years of experience in the development of safety technology.
With this device, the optical sensor manufacturer Leuze electronic presents a safe scanner that combines safety technology with high-quality measured value output in a single device. This enables reliable safeguarding and navigation of AGVs. The measured value output is optimized for navigation software that works according to the principle of natural navigation with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping). Thanks to the high angular resolution of 0.1 degrees, the RSL 400 offers particularly detailed detection of the surroundings over the entire measuring range up to 50 meters. This is achieved by a narrow laser spot that retains its vertical shape over the entire angular range. The distance values are accurate and are not influenced by the reflectivity of the object.
The additional output of the received signal strength value per beam enables the independent detection of reflectors by the navigation software. If beams hit a reflector, the values stand out clearly from any surroundings, making reliable detection possible. With up to 100 switchable field pairs, the RSL 400 offers adaptation of the protective fields - even with many different movement and loading conditions. The parallel monitoring of several protective fields enables the speed of AGVs to be reduced safely. These functions are also available as a device variant with Profinet/Profisafe interface and enable simple integration. pb
