The company will be presenting ifm 's new products at the Hannover Messe 2019. The innovations include:

The fork and angled light barriers, , are used for parts monitoring in feeding technology as well as in assembly and handling technology. Thanks to IO-Link, individual adaptation to different applications is possible. Thanks to adjustable switching frequencies of up to 14,000 Hz, the new sensors can be used quickly. The device automatically detects contamination by permanently monitoring the function reserve. This saves time and protects against production downtime. The use of IO-Link enables digital and bidirectional communication.

The new all-metal sensors can be used universally with a diagnostic function and detect deviations immediately. Their stainless steel housing (V4A / 316L) with protection classes IP 65 to IP 69K and the wide temperature range up to 100 °C allow them to be used under the toughest conditions. The distance to the damping disk can be called up at any time via IO-Link using measuring sensors. A change in the mechanical distances is identified and preventive readjustment reduces possible downtimes.

The smart sensor profile includes a range of setting options. Switching points and output functions, for example normally closed / normally open contacts, can be parameterized. Everything can also be set remotely via the integrated IO-Link interface. This allows the device to be individually adapted to different production situations from the control level.
