Force sensors

Force measurement with strain gauge technology

The electronics specialist Megatron has added the two force sensors KMB51 and KMB76 to its range, which are suitable for recording forces in production as well as in monitoring or testing systems.

The sensors are robust and durable, even under harsh conditions. They work with strain gauge technology (DMS). The nominal force of the KMB51 sensor is rated at 110 kilonewtons, that of the KMB76 at 220 kilonewtons. Both have a nominal measuring range of 0.15 millimeters with a relative deviation of the zero signal of a maximum of 0.1 percent of the nominal force and can be used in a nominal temperature range of up to plus 70 degrees Celsius.

The two compact force sensors meet the requirements of protection class IP64 and have a stainless steel measuring body. In addition, the force sensors are supplied with a measurement report that lists the exact characteristic values for the installation. On request, the manufacturer can customize the sensors for the respective application, even for small quantities. The service includes the modification of cables with connectors as well as advice. Megatron can also supply load cells for other forces on request for specific projects. pb
