Even more insight into the industry

Balluff is expanding the BVS CA industrial camera product family with new models featuring Swir sensors. This means that short-wave infrared technology (Swir) is now available for use in the short-wave infrared range in the GigE and USB3 camera series.

Fields of application are in the semiconductor, packaging and food industries - specifically in the inspection of wafers, agricultural products, transparent plastics in waste sorting and fill levels in opaque plastic containers.

The Swir sensors use the short-wave infrared range of the light spectrum up to 1,700 nm and detect object features and characteristics that are difficult or impossible for conventional cameras or the human eye to see. As they can still detect objects well even in smoke or fog, the sensors are also suitable for surveillance tasks. The camera models BVS CA-GX0 and BVS CA-SF2 are used.
