Differential pressure measurement

Mara Hofacker,

Differential pressure sensor for low pressure ranges

With the EE610, E+E Elektronik is expanding its range for differential pressure measurement. The new sensor measures low differential pressures up to ±100 Pa with an accuracy of ±0.5 Pa. The EE610 is suitable for a wide range of applications thanks to its adjustable measuring ranges and other versatile configuration options. It can be used for air as well as all non-flammable and non-aggressive gases.

The EE610 is particularly suitable for the medical and pharmaceutical sectors as well as for clean room applications. For example, the sensor can be used to measure the differential pressure between clean rooms, operating theaters or isolation chambers. The measurement works without gas flow, which prevents cross-contamination.

Adjustable measuring ranges

The sensor from E+E Elektronik enables unidirectional or bidirectional differential pressure measurement within an adjustable measuring range of 0...100 Pa or ±25, ±50 and ±100 Pa. The long-term stable, piezoresistive sensor element guarantees a high accuracy of ±0.5 Pa.

Analog output and display

The measured values are simultaneously available as current and voltage signals on the spring terminals. The measurement data is clearly displayed on the illuminated graphic display - optionally in Pa, mbar, inch water column or mm H2O.

The EE610 can be configured directly on site. The pressure measuring range, response time, output signal, display illumination and the unit for the measured pressure values can be easily set using DIP switches on the circuit board. Zero point and end value adjustment is possible using a push-button.

The functional IP65/NEMA 4 housing allows the sensor to be mounted with the cover closed. This saves time and protects the electronics from on-site contamination and mechanical damage during installation. The electrical connection can be made using a cable gland or via the knockout opening provided for a ½" conduit adapter.
