Joining technology

A heart of control and software

Promess presents its new Industry 4.0-capable Revoultion X joining system. At the heart of the new system are the autonomous, multi-axis capable controller and the new operating software for parameterizing and visualizing the joining process.

The universal joining system is suitable for simple and complex assembly and joining processes, as well as for inspection and test applications in the force range from 200 newtons to 500 kilonewtons.

The universal joining systems are controlled via the central controller, the RX controller. The decoupling of the controller from the power amplifier and the increase in computing capacity open up new possibilities in the area of application, promises the manufacturer. In contrast to conventional systems, up to four joining axes can be controlled and monitored with one RX controller per assembly station. Even demanding test applications, in which several parts are to be processed simultaneously with one joining module and monitored with several sensors, can be realized with the system without the use of additional monitoring devices. Data evaluation takes place directly in the control system without any loss of time. Up to 1001 programs and 100,000 process curves can be saved directly here.

Parameterization software via web interface
The new RX software is used to parameterize and visualize the joining process. This is operated via the web interface of all common browsers on various end devices. Commissioning is straightforward, as are the installation of updates, maintenance and service. A dashboard in drag & drop configuration and input validation are designed to support the user when creating the program, thus avoiding input errors. Programming knowledge is not required.

The RX controller is Industry 4.0-capable and can be integrated into the respective system architecture via the OPC-UA interface. The software is prepared for virtual commissioning (digital twin) so that processes can be virtually optimized during system planning and after commissioning of the system. as
