Acquisition of Omnicon
Schmersal expands services division
Schmersal acquired Omnicon Engineering, based in Kirkel-Limbach, Saarland, on October 24, 2019. Omnicon is a service provider that advises both SMEs and DAX companies on safety-related issues and supports them in ensuring the conformity of machinery with EU machinery safety regulations.
The engineering firm with around 15 employees will continue as a member of the Schmersal Group under its previous name. The founder Friedhelm Nowak will also remain with the company as Managing Director.
The takeover is expected to achieve greater market penetration for the services of Schmersal's Tec.nicum division, explains Philip Schmersal, Managing Partner of Schmersal Holding. "Omnicon is an outstanding service provider that offers the complete portfolio of safety services - from risk assessment and technical documentation to hazard assessments and training."
Tec.nicum was founded on January 1, 2016 as a service division of the Schmersal Group and has been recording double to triple-digit growth rates every year since then. Tec.nicum consists of a global network of certified functional safety engineers who provide manufacturer-independent advice to machine manufacturers and operators on all aspects of machine and occupational safety. The experts also plan and implement complex safety solutions in collaboration with clients. as
