Safety technology for metalworking

At AMB 2022, Euchner will be showcasing its latest safety solutions that can communicate in an Industry 4.0-capable manner. Product highlights include the new compact CTS guard locking and the flexible all-rounder in the field of key systems: the new CKS2 for machines and systems.

The CTS safety switch impresses with its high locking force, compact design and flexible installation: The CTS measures just 135 x 31 x 31 mm and has a maximum locking force of 3900 N. Whether for swing or sliding doors or for the smallest door radii - the CTS can be used universally thanks to the three different mounting directions of the switch and the floating universal actuator. The extendable escape release can be retrofitted at any time. The transponder-based safety switch with guard locking ensures maximum safety, as it meets all category 4/PL e requirements in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 and EN ISO 14119.

Thanks to its new "FlexFunction", the CTS combines various functions in one device that are otherwise only found in individual variants. This means that the CTS gives users the choice of which function it is to be used for - with or without guard locking monitoring, with high or low coded evaluation of the actuator code. The function is selected via the appropriate actuator. Industry 4.0-ready with the CTS:In addition to intelligent communication in the series connection of Euchner devices, the new switch offers connection to IO-Link.

One device for many applications: the secure key system CKS2

With the CKS2, Euchner offers a new secure key system that can be used for many applications with simple integration into the overall control system. By selecting the RFID key, the user decides during initial commissioning whether the device is to be used for simple stopping and starting of machines and processes, as an electronic authorization system for several operators or as a key transfer system, for example. Configuration takes place when the key is first learned. Reconfiguration to a different function is possible at any time. Euchner calls this flexibility "FlexFunction". The use of highly coded transponder-based keys guarantees maximum security. Connection to IO-Link is possible with the help of Euchner's gateways, allowing extensive diagnostic and communication functions to be provided. For example, it is possible to read out which key was used to operate the system. The CKS2 is also available as a submodule for the MGB2 Modular - opening up a wide range of new applications for the successful door locking system.

In addition to the new products, Euchner will also be showcasing its tried-and-tested safety solutions for the metalworking industry at the trade fair. These include the CTA safety switch, which, with its robust metal housing and a locking force of up to 8000 N, is ideal for heavy doors and harsh environments. Euchner will also be exhibiting the MGBS safety gate guard, which is particularly suitable for confined spaces and can be attached to corner posts of safety fences, for example. Visitors can also find out about the benefits of the highly flexible MGB2 Modular safety gate protection system, which is now also available for Ethercat P with FSoE in addition to connections with Profinet/Profisafe and Ethernet/IP with CIP Safety.
