The increasing automation of systems and machines also requires adjustments in the areas of data transfer and security. Weidmüller has responded to this challenge with the IE-SR-2TX-WL-4G-EU-LAN router. It is particularly recommended for remote maintenance in remote production facilities without on-site service personnel. In these cases, a targeted and secure functional connection to existing IT systems is often problematic. With the Weidmüller u-link Remote Access, remote maintenance is possible thanks to easy installation, uncomplicated configuration and simple operation, even without special IT knowledge. A clear web interface is available for integration into the existing network. The new security router from Weidmüller ensures secure data transfer.

No external access, reliable connections

If the service technology accesses integrated devices and machines via the Internet, encryption of the transmitted data is essential. The IE-SR-2TX-WL-4G-EU LAN router ensures increased network security with a stateful inspection firewall, IP/port forwarding and network segmentation. The use of u-link, IPsec and OpenVPN ensures secure communication between the service technician's computer and the router in the production plant. Even without Internet access on site, the security router with the integrated 4G/LTE mobile modem establishes a reliable connection at all times, so that the connection in the network is not only secure but also stable. Both static and dynamic routing can be used to always find the best route for the data in the network. The IE-SR-2TX-WL-4G-EU LAN router also has a wide range of options within the network: In addition to two Fast Ethernet RJ45 interfaces, a WLAN interface is integrated for wireless connections to all integrated components and systems.

The new security router has recently become available on the Conrad Sourcing Platform. "We appreciate our partner Conrad's rapid implementation when introducing new products and their ability to market these products appropriately and to the right customer groups. In addition, we receive very positive feedback regarding the integration of electronic Conrad catalogs into the purchasing platforms of our joint industrial customers," says Dr. Christian von Toll, Regional Manager DACH at Weidmüller.
