Safety products for bulk material handling

It must not go wrong

Schmersal has introduced safety products for bulk material handling. These systems ensure the protection of systems, people and processes.

These include, for example, emergency stop buttons, emergency stop pull-wire switches including safety network, level limit switches, belt-alignment switches, switching devices for explosion protection, systems for level measurement and for slot and longitudinal crack monitoring.

The new product family of belt misalignment switches, for example, consists of three series - Economy, Standard and Performance - and is optimally adapted to the respective belt speeds of small to large conveyor systems. Conveyor belts can run off their intended track and cause major damage. Belt misalignment switches are therefore used to detect belt misalignment at an early stage. Smaller deviations from ten degrees of misalignment trigger an early warning, larger deviations, for example from 25 degrees, trigger a shutdown.

The maintenance department of the conveyor system operator is given sufficient time to avoid unplanned production downtimes and take appropriate measures to rectify faults. In this way, the belt misalignment switches enable a reduction in downtimes and stoppages and, as a result, higher system availability. pb
