Focus on safety and efficiency
In keeping with the trade fair motto "Energizing a sustainable industry", the Schmersal Group presented new products and systems for the safe, efficient and sustainable design of machines and systems at the Hannover Messe.
Digitalization based on the principles of Industry 4.0, dwindling resources and advancing climate change are driving comprehensive changes in industrial production. Schmersal aims to provide support here with safety and automation solutions. For example, with the IIoT solution: this enables data and information from production to be collected, made available centrally in the back office and analyzed in real time. This solution is based on the field level, which includes networked sensors and actuators as well as safety switching devices.
The Schmersal Cloud Solution is the link between the field and back office levels. The aim is to increase the efficiency of machines and systems through condition monitoring, predictive maintenance and the calculation of key performance indicators (KPIs).
In future, the cloud solution will also offer apps for energy management, which can be used to monitor power peaks and identify potential energy savings. Schmersal is also focusing on future-proof solutions for safe food production and intralogistics, including a new range of operating devices for food processing machines. The devices are equipped with high-quality plastics for the operating surfaces and stainless steel front rings.
