Solenoid interlock

Safe to walk on

The solenoid interlock AZM400 from Schmersal has only been on the market for a few years. Now several can be connected to a Profinet/Profisafe node in a safety chain. There are also new accessories.

The AZM400 offers a locking force of 10,000 newtons. Thanks to the two-channel release signal, this solenoid interlock achieves the performance values PL e and SIL 3 for both the interlocking and guard locking functions. In combination with the new Safety Fieldbox from Schmersal, it is now possible to connect several AZM400s in a safety chain to a Profinet/Profisafe node.

Schmersal also offers new accessories: Locking tongs protect the operating personnel of larger, accessible machines and systems from being accidentally locked in during maintenance and repair work. To do this, the service staff attach a lock to the locking tongs when entering the danger zone so that the door of the safety guard cannot be closed and unintentional machine start-up is prevented. Up to six locks can be attached to the locking tongs. In the event that an operator is accidentally trapped in such a system, a Bowden cable can be used as an escape release. When used outside the danger zone, the Bowden cable serves as an emergency release. as
