On the one hand, this concerns equipping lasers with vision systems that enable automatic object recognition. Innovative software solutions can optimize the quality of the marking through automatic, precise positioning and achieve time and cost savings by automating the process. Another important example is the connection of laser systems to any data source. Today, markings are applied individually and in real time. Each part is often given a special marking, which is transferred via a database at runtime. This naturally calls for software solutions that optimally support the customer and meet the various requirements that arise on the market.
Increased performance through software enhancements
The in-house Magic Mark marking software is being specifically expanded in terms of functionality and performance through the development of plug-ins. In the case of the vision systems, this is the AOI (Automatic Object Identification). The Data Import PlugIn can be integrated into the standard software for data connection. The Data Import Plugin provides an interface to any data source. Whereas data used to be changed manually in the software, these processes are now completely automatic. This also provides additional benefits in terms of traceability. Plug-ins significantly increase the performance and flexibility of laser systems, which leads to an increase in the efficiency of customer processes. ACI Laser is a partner to its customers in this area and provides support with process and cost optimization.
Software solutions from ACI are constantly being further developed based on customer feedback and our own innovations. Plug-in technology has established itself as an excellent tool for this. The standard Magic Mark labeling software can be expanded with important application-related functions without further "bloating" the software overall.
Trends in the development of digital solutions
ACI Laser GmbH is increasingly focusing on the topic of process data acquisition in the context of Production 4.0. Customer benefits with maintenance suggestions or the replacement of wearing parts are positive effects that provide laser systems with additional benefits in combination with innovative software solutions as part of continuous data acquisition. Today, product characteristics are defined less by hardware and more by software features. We recognized this trend early on and will continue to pursue it consistently.
