Editorial
Things are looking up ...
... all indicators point to this. At most of the annual press conferences attended by the editorial team in recent weeks, the company managements looked to the future with positive expectations.
Digitalization and robotics are the two most important growth drivers in mechanical and plant engineering. Even for small and medium-sized industrial companies, both are now easy to finance and deploy; and indispensable for keeping up with the competition.
The leap in performance is particularly evident in our current issue's focus on tool and mold making: many weeks used to pass between the time when the need for a new tool or mold was identified and the time when the finished tool was ready for use in production. This obstacle, particularly in the production of variants, has now shrunk enormously, in some cases to just a few days. You can read more about this from page 8 onwards.
We have also dedicated an entire day to this topic at the digital networking days, our major digital trade congress from June 15 to 17, 2021 - June 16. On June 17, the focus will be on the digital transformation in industrial companies and on June 15 on intralogistics in all its diversity. With the congress, we are also introducing new features for networking between participants. You can read more about this on page 22. I look forward to networking with you.
Yours
