A competition of the best ...

... dear readers, the handling award was once again a great success this year. A few days ago, the winners took to the stage at Motek to proudly accept their awards. An event that has established itself and a competition that is now considered a "must" in the industry.

Our second focus is on the diverse topic of linear technology. Linear components and systems are constantly evolving technologically and are taking on increasingly complex and dynamic tasks, for example in guidance and positioning. Uwe Schmitz, Team Leader Product Management at Item, explains what modern linear technology means.

A meeting of the best - that's how you could describe our "Modern Assembly" congress, which we launched this year and organized on the fringes of Motek. There was a great deal of interest and a pleasing response: speakers from well-known companies delivered highly interesting and informative presentations on practical, concrete implementation strategies for players in modern industrial production. Visions and theories are all well and good, but what design engineers and mechanical engineers actually need for their day-to-day work are tips for viable paths into the factory of the future. We are already forging a new, relevant conference topic for 2019. Join us again then!

Of course, this also applies to the handling award: after the party is before the party! We at handling are delighted to be able to work with the best.

With this in mind, I wish you an interesting read and send you my warmest regards,
