Whole Life Performance Plus Study

Andreas Mühlbauer,

A good indoor climate increases productivity

A recent British study confirms that an optimal indoor climate can increase the performance, speed and accuracy of employees.

This study was the first to investigate the influence of the indoor climate on productivity, not only with regard to materials and machines, but also with regard to the human factor.

The most important result of the British "Whole Life Performance Plus Study" is that productivity and climatic comfort in the workplace go hand in hand. The study was conducted by the British Council for Offices (BCO) together with Oxford Brooks University and LCMB Building Performance Ltd between February 2016 and October 2018.

According to the study, companies that invest in the indoor climate of production and workspaces can expect a number of positive effects for their employees: lower absenteeism, higher product quality, increased performance in the workplace, greater employee loyalty and creativity. The study focused in particular on the influence of temperature,CO2 and relative humidity in the workplace.

Condair Systems has summarized further current findings on the influence of indoor climate on productivity in industrial applications in a 16-page white paper. You can order the white paper free of charge here.
