Rhenus hybrid greases improve bearing lubrication

Lubricant manufacturer Rhenus Lub has developed two hybrid greases in a new formulation, Rhenus XPN 15 and Rhenus XPC 2, which combine the best properties of different thickener types.

When it comes to pressure absorption with simultaneous movement in machines and systems, rolling and plain bearings play a decisive role. However, bearings only become a key component of a machine's success with high-performance lubrication. To enable designers and users to achieve maximum performance and service life, the lubricant manufacturer Rhenus Lub is pursuing a completely new approach with the premium EP greases Rhenus XPN 15 and Rhenus XPC 2: In contrast to standard greases, the new high-performance lubricating greases use the best properties of various thickener types and combine them with other high-performance components in a completely new formulation. This makes the greases based on hybrid technology ideal for use in wood pelleting systems, construction machinery and mining equipment as well as all highly stressed bearings that are exposed to shock loads and moisture.

More power thanks to special hybrid thickener

The performance guarantee of Rhenus XPN 15 and Rhenus XPC 2 is the innovative formulation based on the new Rhenus special hybrid thickener technology. Compared to conventional lithium- or calcium-thickened greases, users benefit from a much improved performance level and other application advantages. Dr. Marco Pfeiffer, Head of Product Management & Sales Greases at Rhenus Lub, comments: "As a recognized development partner, we know exactly what really counts for designers and users when it comes to lubricating grease: outstanding bearing service life, reduced relubrication quantity, higher performance and overall lower maintenance costs - even under difficult operating conditions." Dr. Pfeiffer continues: "Our test series prove that we have succeeded very well with our high-performance EP greases." According to the company, Rhenus XPN 15 and Rhenus XPC 2, which are based on semi-synthetic oil, protect against corrosion, are water-resistant and have good adhesion. As mechanically very stable products, they should also work very well under extreme pressure requirements and vibrations - and with reduced consumption compared to conventional greases.
