Application of multi-component plastics

Mara Hofacker,

Dosing mixing head for very small quantity applications

With its new LV 2/2 dosing mixing head, system manufacturer Tartler offers a further innovation for the highly precise and repeatable application of small quantities of multi-component plastics. The new LV 2/2 is a pioneering application solution, especially for users in electro casting and bonding technology who need to apply low-viscosity resins and hardeners in tiny droplets with pinpoint accuracy. Shot quantities of just 1.0 gram and mixing ratios of 100:5 to 100:20 are possible. An integrated load cell monitors the shot accuracy.

At Tartler, the wheels never stand still. Almost every few weeks, the company from Michelstadt presents another innovation for fully automated dosing and mixing technology or vacuum-assisted filling technology to processors of synthetic resins. The latest development went into series production just a few days ago: the new LV 2/2 dosing mixing head for high-precision processing of low-viscosity components and their precise application in the smallest quantities. It is specially designed for demanding quality applications in electrical potting and bonding technology. Typical areas of application include potting and sealing tiny electrical/electronic components or bonding small magnets in the rotors of compact e-mobility drives. The new LV 2/2 enables the mixing of resins and hardeners with viscosities of 50 to 20,000 mPas as well as the precise and repeatable dosing of very small shot quantities of 1.0 to 10 grams. Depending on the type of pump used, the user can achieve mixing ratios of 100:5 to 100:20 with the LV 2/2 from Tartler. At the customer's request, Tartler also makes other, individual mixing ratios possible.

Integrated measurement technology

The great strength of Tartler's new small-quantity dosing mixing head is its proprietary measuring technology. This is because the LV 2/2 has a built-in load cell for absolutely reliable and precise process control. It monitors the shot accuracy during the application and can automatically calibrate itself - in conjunction with its controller and a corresponding program. This self-calibration saves the user a lot of time in practice. Equipped with such integrated intelligence, the LV 2/2 from Tartler sets new standards in the field of small quantity and spot dosing of synthetic resins. The drive technology of the new LV 2/2 is also of the finest quality. Both its pumps and its mixing head work with modern and energy-efficient servo drives. And not to forget, because this is typical of all Tartler systems: The use of the rotating disposable plastic mixers is also possible here, with which even extreme component formulations can be mixed to mixtures of the very highest homogeneity in the shortest possible time. A plastic mixer frequently used in small-quantity processing is, for example, the particularly short and slim 06/04 D from Tartler.

New benchmark for mini quantities

The new LV 2/2 dosing mixing head from Tartler is a high-quality and intelligent precision system for all those synthetic resin processors who have to apply tiny quantities of liquid plastics and adhesives in production or in the laboratory. The standard version is designed for processing two components, but the special version can also be used to dose, mix and apply up to four components.
