Protection against dripping liquids
Leaking liquids contaminate the workplace and endanger occupational safety. Mewa now offers the Multitex oil spill mat in two additional sizes - 116 x 176 cm and 88 x 223 cm. The new XXL sizes provide seamless protection against dripping liquids, oil and grease on around two square meters of work surface.
The textile mats can immediately absorb engine and gearbox oil, solvents or lubricants and bind them permanently inside. Used preventively, the Multitex mat saves the use of oil binding agents and granules. While the standard size can absorb up to three liters of liquid, the large sizes can absorb around ten liters. A special fleece inside the mat distributes the liquid evenly and the surface remains virtually dry.
The mats are offered in a resource-saving reusable system. Mewa collects used mats at agreed intervals and exchanges them for new ones. They are transported in specially developed, safe containers in accordance with the Hazardous Substances Ordinance. Mewa uses the recycled oils separated and processed from the textiles during the washing process to cover the energy requirements of the dryers and washing lines. The Multitex reusable system relieves companies of the burden of disposing of hazardous waste materials and saves primary resources.
