Broadcasting facilities, storage media, a wealth of technical equipment and lots of acoustic insulation: for firefighters, every single one of these objects is a challenge in the event of a fire. This is why the Czech Television Fire Rescue Service (ČT) was founded in 1971, which is trained precisely to save lives and extinguish fires in this special environment, among other things. The fire station near the ČT site is located in a separate building. It is now equipped with Efaflex high-speed doors, which have to meet a number of special criteria - first and foremost speed and reliability. The advantage is that the doors now allow more daylight into the interior of the fire station thanks to their transparent slats.

The manufacturer Efaflex installed a total of nine doors for this order. Eight EFA-SST-Essential were installed in the outer wall of the fire station. One EFA-SRT-L Premium is located in the main building of Czech Television. The customer was impressed by the high opening and closing speed compared to the old roller shutter door. In the event of a power failure, the doors can be opened quickly via an emergency release.

Ensuring fire protection within seconds

Efaflex carried out the entire order on a turnkey basis precisely in accordance with the requirements of the tendering process and the needs of the firefighters. The delivery included both the installation of the high-speed doors and the dismantling of the previously existing doors. Efaflex also implemented a number of modifications in collaboration with the customer. These included, for example, the conversion of the supporting structures, the reduction of the passage height by cladding a lintel with insulated slats and the laying of new distribution lines including their revision. All the work was completed in just under three weeks. The station staff can now be sure that the doors will open within seconds in the event of an alarm.

According to the manufacturer, the consistently high quality standards of the EFA-SST Essential high-speed spiral door contribute to a very good price-performance ratio. The homogeneous construction of the spiral ensures good running characteristics combined with high speed. The fast opening and closing speed means that very little energy is lost to the outside or between two rooms. Efaflex offers the EFA-SST with thermally broken EFA-Therm insulating slats as standard. They improve thermal insulation and also ensure lower energy consumption.

The Czech Television Fire Brigade was established on the instructions of the city administration to ensure fire protection in the Kavče Hory area. The station is part of the Integrated Rescue System (IZS) of the Czech Republic and ensures the tasks of the IZS in the district of the capital city of Prague in accordance with the fire alarm plan.
