With the EFA-SRT MS Performance high-speed door, Efaflex meets precisely these requirements for machine protection. "As a movable safety guard, the EFA-SRT MS Performance is perfectly tailored to the needs of the industry," explains Lukas Meyer, Head of Product Management at Efaflex. On the one hand, the fast opening and closing speeds of up to 2.0 m/s allow a constant production process. Secondly, the door achieves a long service life, according to the company: "With the EFA-SRT MS Performance, up to one million load changes can be carried out per year," explains Meyer. In addition, the EFA-SRT MS Performance is designed for an above-average life cycle of 12 years. There is a good reason for this performance: the optimized construction combines sophisticated design with first-class workmanship and component quality. Clearance widths of 750 to 3,500 mm and total opening heights of 750 to 3,500 mm are possible without any problems; with an optional frame extension, an opening height of 4,000 mm is even possible.

Optimization through individualization

Adaptability is the second major strength of the EFA-SRT MS Performance, as Lukas Meyer knows: "The door can be configured extremely flexibly for specific needs and requirements. This also makes a wide range of customization possible." The highlight here is the newly developed frames made from extruded aluminum profiles. These allow attachments such as push buttons or supplied fence connections to be mounted at the desired height. Up to four limit switches can be integrated into the frames on request, with the integrated cable ducts providing a clear overview and clean cable separation. Another new feature is the powerful drive, which can now also be rotated in 45° increments. This means that the high-speed door can also be adapted to its operating environment. The door also offers individual configuration options for the door curtain: both a transparent version made of flexible PVC with colored warning stripes and a version made of transversely stable fabric in various colors with or without a viewing window are available.

Machine safety gates are designed to protect machines and equipment, but above all people. To ensure maximum safety for people on plant and machinery, the door is equipped with a door line or safety light curtain as standard. The head-safe option is also available. If one of these mechanisms detects people or obstacles at the closing level, the door stops immediately. The transparent frame covers can also be fitted with an LED strip, which enables an additional traffic light function.

Efaflex attaches great importance to the fact that the robustness and product service life make the safety gate a safe long-term solution in the industrial and commercial sector. The reliability and functional safety is also reflected in the full certification at performance level "d". In addition, the machine safety gate is EC type-tested in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and certified by the ift Rosenheim test laboratory. According to the company, a further advantage of the EFA-SRT MS Performance is that it is low-maintenance, while the hinged cover and removable cable covers also make basic maintenance and service work easier if necessary. The transparent frame covers allow for easy visual inspection. Details such as these also help to ensure that the door remains reliable in use for a long time.

Self-assembly optionally possible

Customers can install the door themselves: This is possible both as wall mounting and in the free-standing version. Efaflex supplies the door with assembly instructions and all the necessary installation materials. "With the EFA-SRT MS Performance, we are responding to specific customer requests and therefore also offer self-assembly," explains Meyer. Efaflex ensures that the highest standards of safety and functionality are also met during self-assembly. Customers benefit in several ways - on the one hand from lower acquisition costs due to the independent assembly, and on the other hand the door can be put into operation much more quickly thanks to self-assembly. In addition, it is not necessary to send out a separate installation vehicle, which savesCO2 emissions.
