Functional principle of the room air purifier scientifically tested

The functional principle of the Sasoo room air purifier, developed by the partner companies ULT AG and Novus air, has been proven by scientific studies at the ILK Dresden.

The "Institut für Luft- und Kältetechnik" (ILK) states in its report that "the sasoo extraction and filter device cleans effectively. The viral load in the room is reduced by 90 percent within 20 minutes." The use of HEPA H14 filters and activated carbon guarantees a separation rate of 99.995%, thus officially reducing the risk of infection in areas of up to 100 m².

The Sasoo air purifier works on the principle of air capture from above. This means that air that may be contaminated with aerosols or viruses is drawn in from above and not from below. One reason for this is that aerosols can sometimes remain in the air for several days without sinking significantly. Therefore, contaminated air is actually also drawn in when air is collected "from above". Another advantage is that the air can be drawn in unhindered - regardless of the furnishing situation or where people are located. Dust particles on the floor are also not sucked in, which could result in premature filter saturation.

This extraction principle also utilizes the natural convection in the room. Air heated by radiators rises, cools down and sinks again. The entire room air is therefore in motion and is captured in the direction of flow. The purified air is discharged draught-free at the bottom of the room air purifier and begins to circulate again.

Room air filters currently provide important support in reducing the viral load in closed rooms. Not only in the current Covid-19 pandemic, but also in the long term, the use of air purifiers can significantly reduce the risk of infection and thus the number of sick days. As pollen is also effectively removed, allergy sufferers are also likely to benefit from air purifiers.

The room air purifier is also characterized by its small footprint and quiet operation. It is made of high-quality materials, can be used both mobile and stationary and also has an integratedCO2 traffic light that indicates the need for additional room ventilation. There are currently several bridging and subsidy programs that support investments in air purification systems with up to 90 percent.
