i.safe Mobile has launched the IS540.1 smartphone. It is approved for ATEX and IECEx Zone 1/21, supports 5G frequency bands and Wi-Fi 6.
The Qualcomm QCM6490 chipset gives IS540.1 users a future-proof mobile device with robust 5G and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, high camera quality and multimedia capabilities. The chipset has powerful AI and computing capabilities that can handle demanding applications without compromising power efficiency.
Other special technical features include the 48 MP main camera for high image quality. The amplified loudspeaker guarantees clear and reliable communication even in noisy industrial environments - not just for PoC/PTT applications. The updateable, up-to-date Android 12 operating system - in conjunction with the processor - ensures fast data processing for the most demanding requirements in the industrial environment (predictive maintenance, communication, security).
The IS540.1 scores points with its 16-pin ISM interface, which offers connection to accessories such as the IS-TH2xx.1 (barcode scanner) or the IS-HS2.1 (audio accessories) and also supports standards such as NFC, Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6.
5G smartphone for use in potentially explosive atmospheres
The new IS540.1 from i.safe MOBILE supports the 5G standard, which is used in company-internal campus networks (stand-alone networks), for example. Among other things, the 5G standard facilitates the integration and consolidation of complex workflows, communication and networking between employees, machines and processes.
Maintenance, remote monitoring and the evaluation of process data are playing an increasingly important role in the industrial environment and require prompt, fast data transmission and processing. In the 5G network, these can be transmitted many times faster than was previously possible in 4G networks. The IS540.1 fully supports this technological progress.
