With simulation to customized transport robotics

AGV provider E&K Automation uses planning software to create virtual models that simulate logistics processes. The company uses these models to develop logistics solutions that are tailored to the needs of the user.

Efficient, needs-based transport robotics solutions with the help of digital intralogistics planning - this is one of the core competencies of E&K Automation, headquartered in Rosengarten. The simulation experts create 2D and 3D models in which the processes are simulated in different variants. EK has developed the Tecnomatix Plant Simulation planning tool and a special modular system that allows the processes to be mapped quickly and in detail. For the simulation model, layout data is recorded as accurately as possible, for example plans of the premises, location and dimensions of systems. This is supplemented by data on the desired AGVs from EK, data on the processes taking place in the company and the transportation tasks to be performed.

Information such as transport flows and their fluctuations, buffer sizes and machine behavior are also included in the calculations in order to optimally design system sizes, transport performance and traffic routing for the transport concept. By viewing the processes in fast motion and from a "bird's eye view", system limits can be determined and planning errors avoided. The solutions designed by EK with the help of simulation are therefore tailored to the spatial conditions and maximum productivity.

Millimeter-precise measurement by laser scanning
The more precise the available data, the more reliable the end result. For this reason, EK Automation also offers state-of-the-art 3D laser measurement: The entire visible surroundings of a room are recorded. The so-called point cloud of a room is created from numerous individual scans, which represents the exact image of the measured objects. The overall digital model is then created on the basis of this data. Even large and complex buildings and their interiors can be mapped with millimetre precision in this way. as
