Conveyor solution in the parcel center
Vanriet sorts the mail in Norway
Vanriet has gained a new customer with the Norwegian postal service Posten Norge. The Dutch system integrator is now equipping the parcel center near Stavanger with an automated sorting and conveying solution.
In future, an HC sorter will transport and sort the incoming parcels and unit loads there. The system will process up to 6,500 parcels per hour at a speed of 2.4 meters per second. The parcel center and the new sorting system will go into operation in April 2019.
"The HC-Sorter is the ideal solution for Posten Norge, as it reliably sorts a large number of parcels in the shortest possible time," says Kai Ramadhin, Director Sales & Marketing at Vanriet. In future, the new parcel center will be supplied with parcels and general cargo twice a day. The parcels will be transferred from the delivery entrances to the HC sorter's four infeed lines. These are bidirectional, meaning that the system operates in two directions: both the inbound and outbound processes take place on the same line. The barcodes of the packages are scanned on these lines and their weight and dimensions are determined. Depending on their destination, they are then transported to the delivery vehicles via one of the 20 exits.
Vanriet's system can sort different products from cartons to bags weighing up to 50 kilograms. The speed of the system can also be flexibly adjusted. At peak times, the HC sorter installed by Vanriet at the Norwegian postal service covers 2.4 meters per second. To keep energy consumption low during unloading, the speed can be reduced during this time. Vanriet's sorting solution will also be completed by the time the parcel center opens in April 2019. as
