HC Sorter
Vanriet equips Serbia's first automated parcel sorting solution
With the HC Sorter, Vanriet has supplied a partial solution for the first automatic parcel sorting system in Serbia. The Serbian automation specialist Trasing installed the solution in a system for the courier and express service provider (CEP) D Express. The aim was to transport and sort 5,500 parcels per hour.
Trasing decided to work with Vanriet due to the complex customer requirements of D Express. An automation system with 50 output points had to be planned, built and commissioned within six months. The aim was to transport and sort 5,500 parcels per hour.
Since the end of 2017, Vanriet's HC Sorter has been an integral part of the automation solution that Trasing has implemented at CEP service provider D Express in Belgrade. A conveyor belt feeds parcels of various sizes from the Trasing system into the Vanriet sliding shoe sorter after their barcodes have been scanned. At a speed of up to two meters per second, the parcels are sorted and transported to one of 50 exit points. The parcels are gently pushed off the sorter deck by sliding push-off elements, making the system suitable for transporting sensitive goods. The HC Sorter also has a closed deck: slats on the surface prevent cartons from getting caught between the slats. This reduces downtime to a minimum. The manufacturer also points to low noise emissions. as
