Two tons in a double-decker
The maneuverable and powerful DS 3040 from Crown complements the DT series of double-deck pallet trucks. With a load capacity of up to two tons and lifting heights of up to 2300 millimetres, the double-deck truck is designed for use in confined retail or warehouse environments.
Its small turning radius, compact dimensions and high load capacity make it easy to transport goods and handle pallets quickly. In double-decker operation, it can move 1000 kilograms on both the wheel arms and the forks.
"After the new DS 3040 has already proven itself over a longer period of time in tests at one of our major retail customers, it is now being launched on the market as a series product. The customer enthusiastically confirmed that the tighter the space, the easier it is to maneuver our double-deck forklift," explains Christian Rotter, Marketing Product Manager at Crown.
The new forklift truck combines the performance features of a high-lift truck with the flexibility of a pallet truck. It was developed and produced by Crown in Germany. Robust steel cladding protects the installed components. The stable mast is extremely resilient thanks to its design with interlocking double T-profiles. This gives the DS 3040 outstanding stability and makes it the solution for medium-duty applications such as transporting pallets, filling shelves and unloading trucks.
Intuitive, efficient and ergonomic working
The design with a front end length of just 772 millimetres and the low-mounted Crown X10 tiller makes the new double-deck stacker so manoeuvrable. Its proportional lifting and lowering function allows the operator to position pallets precisely and raise the forks to an ergonomic working height of 850 millimetres without returning to the tiller thanks to optional lift switches on both sides of the mast. Thanks to the clear-view mast, the overall low overall height of the drive unit and the additional fork tip markings, operators benefit from a first-class view of the fork tips.
