Lifting technology and material handling
Two specialists join forces
The RUD and Caldwell groups combine their market activities on the North American market in a joint organization.
The globally active RUD Group, with its main development and production sites in Aalen and the global core markets, offers solutions for lifting, lashing, conveying, driving and handling loads of various sizes. Founded in 1875, the family-owned group now employs more than 1,700 people at production and sales locations in more than 120 countries. The portfolio includes mountable sling technology, lashing technology for load securing, round steel and hoist chains, conveyor systems and drive technology. The Caldwell Group, based in Rockford, Illinois, has been active since 1954 and is an expert in innovative load handling technologies. With nine product lines, the company offers standard and customized solutions for industry - from crane hooks and lifting beams to coil and vacuum lifters and special positioning devices for loads.
"The cooperation is initially only relevant for the US market," explains Jörg Rieger, Managing Partner of the RUD Group. "By joining forces, our constant efforts to consistently expand our market position as a leading and innovative system provider for lifting and mobility solutions from crane hooks to loads will reach another high point, from which the North American market will benefit immensely."
In addition to this product diversity, pooling the expertise of both partners promises to further expand the quality leadership for which RUD is known. Furthermore, by merging the companies' sales and service teams, the aim is to significantly intensify and increase the quality of support for customers and business partners, bringing them even closer to the customer.
Geographical merger
Parallel to the unification of know-how and range of services, a spatial and structural merger will also take place: While the former RUD USA will concentrate on the Tyre Chains product area with its corresponding product groups at the Hiawatha, Iowa site, the remaining business units will be completely relocated to the Caldwell Group site in Rockford, Illinois and integrated there. "Customers and partners will therefore be able to find their competent contacts for Caldwell Lifting Means, Renfroe Clamps, RUD Hoist Chains, RUD Material Handling and Lifting Devices, as well as Tecdos drive solutions completely at Caldwell with immediate effect," adds Jörg Rieger. as
