Torwegge grows in Bielefeld
Torwegge has expanded the Bielefeld site and created the spatial capacities required for further growth. Production, storage areas and offices have been enlarged. As part of the construction project, the company has set up a showroom for product presentations and training rooms for internal training courses.
"The expansion of the property in Bielefeld was a logical consequence of our company's development in recent years," says Uwe Eschment, CEO of Torwegge. Since moving into the site in 2000, the company has grown continuously. Capacity limits had been reached in production and storage as well as in the offices. An increase in productivity and an increase in personnel would only have been possible to a limited extent. The conversion has increased the premises by more than 40 percent in total.
For this reason, Torwegge invested in a new 1,100 square meter hall, among other things. This provides additional space for the production and storage of rails and idlers. The building in which the intralogistics specialist produces conveyor technology had already been extended in 2008. The company now has a total of 5,000 square meters of production and storage space at its Bielefeld site.
As part of the construction work, conditions were also created for a vivid product presentation. A 300 square meter showroom is intended to fulfill this purpose. The room offers space to set up various elements of intralogistics solutions along a course. "We can bring products that require explanation to life there," says Eschment. Visible to passers-by from the street, the showroom also offers the opportunity to make the company more visible. "As a company with local roots, it is important for us to have a visual presence," adds Eschment.
"However, growth not only requires space, but also committed, capable employees," says Eschment. The company is planning to increase its workforce, particularly in development and production. For this reason, the office space has also been expanded by 300 square meters and equipped with training rooms. The latter are to be used to promote the transfer of knowledge within the company in a targeted manner. as
