Thermal imaging application
Thermal images at Fachpack
Thermal imaging specialist Flir Systems is exhibiting at Fachpack in Nuremberg for the first time. Together with integrator Itema and packaging solution provider Bytronic, the company will be demonstrating what thermography can achieve in the packaging sector.
These include various automated inspection processes for quality control, such as a possible hot melt inspection for cardboard packaging or product counting through the packaging. The inspection of seals, such as those used for medicines, can also be a task for thermal imaging cameras. This allows automated and contactless inspection during production to check whether the seals are present, intact and undamaged. The system used can be easily integrated into the production process. A later check of returns is also possible with a special thermal imaging camera in the short-wave infrared range. In another application in ice cream production, thermal imaging cameras can detect through the plastic packaging of ice cream whether the frozen ice cream has the correct shape - and whether the wooden stick is positioned correctly. pb
