Still opens central training center
Still has inaugurated its new training center in Fürth. On a usable area of 475 square meters, the trainers now offer the next generation the ideal conditions for sound training.
With the conversion of the Still branch in Fürth into a training center, the company wants to present itself as an employer with a promising future. In addition to the training center at the Hamburg headquarters, there is now a second central learning location where the trainee mechatronics engineers in the advanced training years from all over Germany come together to complete modular, intralogistics-specific practical seminars. After several months of renovation work, modern classrooms and an adjoining mechatronics workshop were created.
The modern, light-flooded rooms of the Fürth training center offer the perfect conditions for product-specific training modules for prospective mechatronics engineers with the career goal of service technician, says Still. Previously, the trainees completed these training units decentrally at the branches throughout Germany. The new consolidation at the Fürth training location releases synergies and strengthens cohesion as well as the high quality of training for all locations.
Still has always attached great importance to sound and future-oriented training. In the last two years, the intralogistics specialist has doubled the training capacity at its branches throughout Germany. 100 new apprentices are currently undergoing training as mechatronics technicians.
The content requirements of training courses have evolved considerably in recent years. Technical professions such as mechatronics technician are demanding and require comprehensive technical equipment for training. The teaching and learning concept also challenges the trainers with completely new, comprehensive training content and innovations. In future, every STILL head office will have a full-time trainer and a designated training area.
In the coming years, the company will continuously increase its nationwide training capacities in the field of mechatronics. This will not only compensate for natural fluctuation, but also meet the increasing demand for skilled workers, especially mechatronics technicians. Against this background, the new training center is an integral part of the long-term training strategy.
STILL is currently training over 200 apprentices across Germany in various technical and commercial professions as well as in dual study programs. "Vocational training is a decisive factor for the competitiveness of our company and the intralogistics industry. With the new training center, STILL is investing in innovative vocational training and in the future of young people," emphasizes Dr. Henry Puhl, CEO, adding: "We are aware that the challenges on the labour market are increasing. It is not just digitalization and Industry 4.0 that will change the world of work and influence it in the long term. The importance of human, value-oriented skills such as customer focus and service orientation is also growing. Our new training center offers our trainees optimal conditions to help them master current and future challenges in the modern working world."
