Matrix sorter
Sequence-accurate provision
The Swiss company Ferag has introduced the Denigrid system. This matrix sorter can be used for assembly supply and for loading assembly parts for just-in-sequence deliveries.
Denigrid is available in three weight classes for both small parts that are transported in containers and assemblies such as engines or complete modules for final automotive assembly. If required, the sorter also functions as an intermediate storage system. The modular design enables flexible adaptation to all local conditions, even across several conveyor levels. Denigrid is scalable - the user can expand the matrix system as requirements grow.
A Denigrid system consists of any number of individually controllable conveyor modules arranged along an X-axis and a Y-axis. The load carriers can be moved in all four directions within a chessboard-like matrix and thus brought into the desired output sequence. By means of appropriately designed auxiliary load carriers, Denigrid makes it possible to process goods of very different dimensions. The spectrum ranges from small components in pallet cages, wheels and motors to complex assemblies. The sliding modules are therefore available in three load sizes as standard. In addition, the manufacturer Ferag also offers customized solutions.
With the Denigrid system, the user can sort and transport small, medium and large components in a colorful mix. In such a case, all those components that are too large for a standard module can simply be distributed across two or more Denigrid base elements.
Like the well-known Denimove worker conveyor belt, the Denigrid system is based on the robust Denirug modules, which have been tried and tested in the automotive industry for many years: Their technology, designed according to the principle of "rolling instead of gliding", is characterized by low wear and low maintenance requirements. Denigrid therefore offers high availability and is suitable for companies whose series production has to cope with a high number of variants; this includes sectors such as automotive, consumer electronics, the optical industry and medical technology. pb
